Sonali Phogat joined Bharatiya Janta Party(BJP) in 2010. She is a very active member and soon became a renowned name in Hisar. In year 2013 she became in-charge of Scheduled Tribe Morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She was handling Delhi, Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh Jointly.

In the year 2019, She became the National Executive Member and State Vice President, BJP Mahila Morcha for Haryana.

With rising popularity, Sonali Phogat was given a ticket to contest 2019 Haryana Assembly election. She was contesting from Adampur of Hisar District. She was contesting against Kuldeep Bishnoi of Congress Party. Kuldeep Bishnoi is the son of Bhajan Lal(former CM of Haryana).

Sonali campaigned with full force and with the backing of BJP. But Kuldeep Bishnoi won the election by a margin. But she showed character and Integrity in fighting the Election.

Family Controversy of Sonali Phogat:

TikTok star Turned Politician Sonali Phogat, had filed a police complaint alleging assault and intimidation on her sister and brother-in-law. She registered a complaint about the incident which took place on the evening of October 28 at Bhunthan Kalan village in Fatehabad, Haryana.

Sonali Phogat complained to the police that her sister Rukesh and brother-in-law Aman assaulted and threatened her after arguing about the land deal.
